California Music Festival
The California Music Festival (CMF) is an intensive artistic residency that brings together advanced students and professional musicians in a fully integrated orchestral setting. Participants rehearse, perform, and study alongside distinguished faculty artists, working as equal members of one ensemble.
CMF is designed to provide deep immersion rather than observation. Fellows develop leadership, artistic responsibility, and collaborative discipline through daily rehearsal, chamber music study, and public performance.
Orchestral Program

Chamber Music
Small ensemble collaboration and coaching designed to refine musical dialogue and interpretive depth.
Masterclasses & Coaching

Annual Concert Series
The CMS Annual Concert Series presents curated performances throughout Los Angeles. These programs highlight internationally respected artists while complementing the Society’s educational initiatives.
The series is designed to expand access to high-level orchestral performance while fostering artistic exchange between local musicians and global talent.
Over time, the Concert Series will grow alongside the Society, serving as a central pillar of the Society’s public presence.
The California Festival Orchestra
A central component of the California Music Festival is the development of the California Festival Orchestra, an ensemble formed through the Festival’s side-by-side model and envisioned as a long-term artistic initiative.
The orchestra will evolve annually, integrating new fellows while maintaining a community of alumni and artists, with the goal of establishing a professional touring festival orchestra rooted in Los Angeles.

As CMS grows, its programs will expand to include additional masterclasses, educational partnerships, and collaborative initiatives that extend beyond the festival model. Each development is guided by a commitment to artistic excellence and institutional integrity.
